MELPOMENE AND CALLIOPE UNDERSTUDY
Directed by Jesse Jou, Samara Shavrick had the opportunity to understudying Melpomene and Calliope in Texas Tech University's Spring Musical 2024. This is Samara's final collegiate production after her four years at Texas Tech. She is excited to see what the next chapter of her life holds.
Samara was one of five students chosen from Texas Tech University to attend an ancient Greek mask work training in the country, Türkiye. Samara had the opportunity to work with Polish native and mask master, Arkadiusz Klucznik. After a week-long intensive the culmination of the training resulted in a performance of scenes from Antigone in the ancient ruins of Ephesus.

The Three Penny Opera
JENNY DIVER
Directed by Bill Gelber, Samara was cast as Jenny Diver in The Three Penny Opera at Texas Tech University in the Fall of 2023. This show started off her senior year where she focused on learning all about the history of Bertolt Brecht and his methods of putting on a show. Bill Gelber, the director, wrote a research novel entitled "Engaging with Brecht" and used lots of his research in leading our rehearsal process.
BARRINGTON STAGE COMPANY INTERNSHIP
One of ten interns selected for the summer of 2022, Samara was offered an intern position at Barrington Stage Company. Under the guidance of some incredible mentors including Julianne Boyd, Jane O'Leary, and Jessica Bush Samara spent the summer becoming proficient in the Tessitura Ticketing Software, Microsoft Excel, and her customer service skills.

NICKIE
Directed by Kyla Olson, Samara portrayed the role of Nickie in Sweet Charity at Texas Tech University in the Spring of 2023. This was the spring of Samara's junior year of college where she focused on her dance technique training. This show was full of incredible moves, moments, and memories!
