A Little Bit About Me
Samara Shavrick is a dynamic performer and entertainment host currently working with Disney Cruise Line aboard the Disney Magic, where she has completed two contracts in her first year post-graduation. A summa cum laude graduate of Texas Tech University, Samara holds a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre.
While at Texas Tech, Samara distinguished herself as a leader and artist, serving as a student ambassador and being elected as chair of the college in the Student Government Association. She also promoted health and wellness among the student body as a group fitness instructor at the University Recreation Center.
Beyond campus, Samara impacted the broader Lubbock community by teaching dance through Ballet Lubbock’s outreach initiative, Dance Connect, working with public elementary schools across the region. She also managed a local branch of a children’s entertainment company, bringing characters to life for birthday parties and events.
Her collegiate theatre career was marked by both performance and directorial achievements, appearing in seven productions including lead roles in Sweet Charity and The Threepenny Opera, and co-directing Fly By Night, for which she received a Meritorious Achievement Award in Directing from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) Region 6. A highlight of her early career was winning the KCACTF Musical Theatre Initiative as a freshman.
In her senior year, Samara was selected to attend a prestigious theatre workshop at Bilkent University in Turkey, where she explored ancient Greek mask techniques with an elite cohort of Texas Tech students.
With a strong foundation in performance, leadership, and community engagement, Samara Shavrick is excited to continue growing as an artist and academic, wherever her passion may lead.
